Jan built the partition wall for his shower using Qboard® on metal studwork. It lends the room a totally new structure and also made it possible to incorporate a shelving unit at the same time.

Partition walls
No bathroom is complete without a partition wall, because partition walls give the room structure. As part of the shower enclosure, to screen off the WC area or combined with a washstand- design your partition walls in an instant using Qboard®.
They can be designed to fit in with the rest of the bathroom with tiles, paint, filler or plaster.
And you can even build a recess into them if you need one.
... and here's how to do it:
First fasten two Qboard® U profiles with commercially available universal screws to the wall.
Apply Board-Fix in strings to one long and one transverse side of the first Qboard® basiq construction board. Then glue the construction board to the wall and floor.
Glue two H profiles to the sides of the construction board with Board-Fix. Screw another U profile on the floor to secure the next construction board.
Apply Board-Fix in strings to the next construction board on one long and one transverse side. Then insert the construction board into the profile.

The core of the Qboard® consists of extruded polystyrene foam, a synthetic material that is waterproof, thermally insulating, light and very stable. This is coated in a fibreglass fabric and mortar so that tiles and other surface finishes can be applied directly to it.
Any conventional tools: knives, cutters, handsaws, electric jigsaws, electric circular saws or circular table saws.
Screws don't stay in place permanently in the foam core. Therefore, larger/heavier objects have to be screwed through the construction boards to a firm subsurface behind them. However, smaller objects (up to about 3 kg) can be fixed directly into Qboard® construction boards using special spiral dowels (such as FID dowels from Fischer).
